It was most unfortunate when, this time last year, the Gratton Trust planted 8 fruit trees to create a community orchid, and overnight rabbits had their way with the young stems, killing 7 of the trees. We waited and watched with our fingers crossed during spring to see if any would survive, but alas only 1 did.
So in November 2023 two of the trustees went about replanting the 7; and this time putting up rabbit guards immediately!
Our thanks to the volunteer trustees. We look forward to seeing the fruit of their efforts in a few years.
