It has been a wet and cold start to the year, but the Trustees have been busy keeping the Gratton in good shape.
Richard Solomons has begun clearing nettles in one corner of the board walk. Work will continue once the ground has softened and we can dig up the routes.
In addition, the Trust has invested in a professional cleaner to remove all the weeds that had been growing up through the rubber floor surrounding many of the playground apparatus. As well as improving the appearance and effectiveness of the flooring, the maintenance will extend the life of the flooring and playground as a whole.
Lastly, we have contracted a local electrician to repair and replace the two floodlights on the Gratton. These now illuminate a large area of the ground, enabling football teams to continue their evening training throughout the winter.
The Trust exists to maintain and develop the Gratton that we all enjoy. This of course costs money, and we are most grateful to those who have kindly donated. Your ongoing support is always needed.
